Igbajo polytechnic is interested in teaching student for self reliance and practical competencies necessary for sustainable development. Thus the approved curriculum taught in the institution is slightly above the minimum recommended by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

ABOUT IGBAJO POLYTECHNIC

Igbajo polytechnic, Igbajo Osun state Nigeria, is one of the well established Polytechnic. Igbajo Polytechnic was established in year 2004 with the primary aim of contributing in meeting the manpower needs of the country Nigeria. Igbajo polytechnic, is the first community polytechnic in Nigeria. The admission of first set of students into PRE-ND and remedial courses started on the 16th of may 2005 at the temporary site.
Finally the polytechnic is still not the bus-stop for the institution, efforts in self-help are ongoing to make the institution a degree awarding institution (University of Igbajo, Igbajo).

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The ultimate aim of Igbajo Polytechnic is the meeting of manpower needs of the country Nigeria, and to equip the students with effective work competencies necessary for sustainable development. Others are:

Improvement of the standard and quality of polytechnic education and through it, the standard and quality of education at all other levels in the country.
Arresting the moral decadence, which is becoming prevalence in Nigeria.
Building of a responsible citizenry committed to justice, truth and honor.
Development of right qualities for leadership.
Provision of a creative, enabling and highly aesthetic Physical environment conductive to intellectual pursuit at polytechnic level.
Provision of course instructions and other facilities for the acquisition of learning in relevant area of study and making such courses and facilities available at the highest standard possible.
Advancement of scholarship, knowledge, research and professionalism in relevant fields of learning.
Relating the activities of the polytechnic to the contemporary social and economic needs of its environment and;
Undertaking of any other activities that are appropriate for a community-owned polytechnic.
